Mercedes revealed this week the AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept, which was created especially for the PlayStation 3 Gran Turismo 6 video game. The Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo is a new super sports car that's powered by the 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine, which develops 430 kW (585 hp) and 800 Nm of torque. A real life version of the Mercedes AMG Gran Turismo is going to be unveiled at the Mercedes‑Benz Research & Development Center in Sunnyvale, California, today. Mercedes is currently looking to end the life of the current SLS AMG, and at the same time they reveal the Mercedes AMG Gran Turismo concept. Is this a coincidence, or is the new concept a preview of the SLS' successor? The inspiration for the AMG Vision Gran Turismo comes from the 1952 Mercedes 300 SL.

The new Mercedes Gran Turismo comes with LED lights and an LED front grille with different light patterns.

The Mercedes Vision Gran Turismo is a two-seater, with Formula 1 inspired sport bucket seats, a special dashboard, gullwing doors, a central display, a racing steering wheel, rocker switches, and an overhead console.

The Mercedes Vision Gran Turismo is built on a spaceframe chassis with carbon components, and it weighs just 1,385 kilograms. This means it has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.4 kilograms per hp. Merc's new Gran Turismo comes with ceramic brakes, a sports exhaust system with eight tailpipes.

We'll have more details about the AMG Vision Gran Turismo as soon as Mercedes makes them available.
