Mercedes reveals the new C63 AMG Coupe, offering an alternative for the M3 Coupe. Merc's C63 AMG Coupe is powered by the same engine as the sedan, and not the new 5.5-liter V8 biturbo unit. This means it has a 6.2-liter powerplant developing 336 kW (457 hp) at 6800 rpm (358 kW (487 hp) at 6800 rpm with the with AMG performance package) and 600 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The performance figures of the new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe say it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). When equipped with the AMG performance package, the new C63 AMG Coupe can rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The power of the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe is sent to the rear wheels via a SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe price list starts at 72,590 EUR, and goes up to 77,231 EUR for the Edition 1 model, which represent the first which will be sold. The cost of the full AMG Performance package for the C63 AMG Coupe is set by Mercedes at 7116.20 EUR.
The main competitor for the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe is the BMW M3 Coupe. Even though the Audi RS5 could be in the same category, its all-wheel-drive system makes it quite a different kind of machine.
