Mercedes presented the new GLA45 AMG concept today during the opening day of the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Even though Mercedes calls it a concept, the GLA45 AMG is basically a production model. The Mercedes GLA45 AMG is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that develops 265 kW (360 hp) and 450 Nm of torque. The GLA45's engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. According to Merc's official specifications, the GLA45 AMG is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 5 seconds. Its top speed is probably electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The Mercedes GLA45 sits on a set of 21-inch forged wheels finished matt black with a red rim, wheel hub covers with center lock-look and high performance brakes with red calipers.
Mercedes equips the GLS45 AMG with a special body kit that includes a front splitter and apron, black flics (air deflectors) with additional flics, new air intakes, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a roof wing. There's also a four tailpipe exhaust system and various decals. So far Mercedes did not reveal the GLS45's interior.
The Mercedes GLA45 AMG's price and availability are going to be announced at a later date.
