Mercedes announced today that the world premiere of the new GLA concept is going to take place this weekend in Shanghai. So far, Mercedes-Benz released just this sketch of the new GLA, but we're sure we'll get more photos of this new crossover by the end of the week. Judging from this drawing, the Mercedes GLA is going to be one mean looking crossover. With an aggressive front fascia, futuristic looking LED headlights and DRLs, and a bulging bonnet, the GLA Class will definitely make its presence felt on the street. So far, Mercedes did not disclose any technical details regarding the new GLA, however, we can make a few speculations. The Mercedes GLA is going to be sold with a range of petrol and diesel engines, with power outputs going up to 200+ hp.
Some rumors say that there's also going to be a Mercedes GLA45 AMG version. The AMG GLA is going to be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that will probably generate as much as 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
The production version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA Class is expected to come this fall at the Frankfurt Auto Show. We'll have all the details of the GLA Concept as soon as Mercedes makes them available.
