Mercedes revealed today the SUV, not coupe, versions of the GLE and of the GLE63 AMG. They also announced the full specs and the equipment list of all versions of the model. The world debut of the Mercedes GLE and of the Mercedes GLE63 AMG is going to take place next week at the New York Auto Show. Their price list has not been announced yet. The top of the range Mercedes GLE63 AMG is powered by the 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine, which is going to be available in two power output levels. The base level develops 410 kW / 557 hp at 5,750 rpm and 700 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 5,500 rpm. Its zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time is 4.3 seconds. The Mercedes GLE63 AMG S puts out 430 kW / 585 hp at 5,500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 5,250 rpm.
The S needs 4.2 seconds to reach the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark. Both AMG models come with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.
The new SUV is also available as a hybrid, with the Mercedes GLE500 e 4MATIC, which develops 325 kW (442 hp) and 650 Nm of torque. Other versions of the Mercedes GLE include the GLE500 (V8), the GLE400 (V6) and two diesels, the GLE250d and the GLE350d. All versions of the Mercedes GLE come with the 4MATIC AWD system and the 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard.
