According to the British press, the German carmaker is planing to build the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series which is to expected in 2013. Apparently, the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series has already received the green light for going into development and will be produced in limited numbers. The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series will be powered by the same 6.2 liter engine, but will probably have a higher power and torque output. The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series is expected to also be lighter than the current model, which, together with the extra juice, will result in improved performance numbers. The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series will also feature the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system.

According to the rumor, the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series will output more than 600 hp obtained through various engine bay upgrades, but the figure is speculative at the moment.

The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series will also have an increased price, which is expected to go as much as 50% higher than the one of the standard version.
