Michael Schumacher Retires From Formula One

The Mercedes AMG F1 team announced today that seven-time champion Michael Schumacher is going to retire from Formula One at the end of this season. This follows the team's decision to replace him with Lewis Hamilton for the 2013 F1 season. Schumacher says he took this decision, even though he's still able to compete with the other drivers. He also says that he's happy with his performance in the last three years, and that he saw improvement in his ability to race. Even so, Schumacher says he might have lost his motivation and energy necessary to win a race in Formula 1. Schumacher said that "in the end, it is not my ambition to just drive around but to fight for victories".

Over the past few weeks, Michael Schumacher was linked with several other F1 teams. Apparently, these were just rumors, as Schumacher's career as an F1 driver approaches its end.
