Mitsubishi revealed today three concepts, which are going to have their world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. The Mitsubishi GC–PHEV is a full-size SUV with a full-time 4WD system that's powered by a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged MIVEC engine and a high-output electric motor. The GC–PHEV sends the power from the hybrid drivetrain to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Mitsubishi XR-PHEV concept previews the carmaker's future compact SUV. The XR-PHEV has a front engine front-wheel-drive architecture and it is powered by a 1.1-liter direct-injection turbocharged MIVEC engine and an electric motor. The hybrid PHEV drivetrain of both these concepts can be tailored to suit various markets.

The Mitsubishi AR concept previews a compact MPV, which is powered by a 1.1-liter direct-injection turbocharged MIVEC engine.

All three concepts, the GC–PHEV, the XR-PHEV and the AR, are equipped with the e-Assist2 active safety technologies, and a next-generation information system.
