Nissan offers today a preview of their new Invitation Concept, which will have its public debut at the 2012 Geneva motor show. Nissan's Invitation concept is the inspiration for the carmaker's future model in the compact hatchback segment. The Nissan Invitation is currently a design study, so the Japanese car manufacturer did not release a whole deal of technical details. Nissan does mention however, that the Invitation concept was designed to offer the best possible aerodynamics, with the lightest platform, in order to achieve high levels of fuel efficiency, and low emissions. The Nissan Invitation is expected to emit less than 100 g/km of CO2.

The Nissan Invitation Concept comes with a huge panoramic glass roof and LED headlights. We suspect these features will not make it into production. In terms of technology, Nissan promises that the production version of the Invitation Concept will come with some of the most advanced technology ever seen in the B-segment. The Invitation Concept is the first B-segment vehicle to feature Nissan's Around View Monitor (AVM). The AVM is designed to make parallel parking as simple as possible. The Invitation also comes with the Nissan Safety Shield Technologies.

Nissan expects that the production version of the Invitation will go on sale sometime in 2013.

We'll have more details about the Invitation Concept as the time of its unveiling.
