Automotive News is reporting today that the German carmaker is working on the Porsche Panamera convertible. The Porsche Panamera convertible will have only two doors, instead of four and will probably have a soft-top. The Porsche Panamera convertible will have to be a two-door in order for it to have the extra rigidity demanded by the lack of a fixed roof. The lack of two doors, will also make up for the extra weight added by the folding mechanism of the Porsche Panamera convertible.
The Porsche Panamera convertible price is expected to be around 105,000 Euros which is around 11,000 Euros more than the standard sedan.
Development chief at Porsche Wolfgang Duerheimer said it's logic for the new sedan to have more versions, like the 911 which has 14 derivates. So, the launch of the Porsche Panamera convertible is almost certain.
