In their latest comparison test, the journalists from AutoExpress put Audi’s new four-door coupe, the A7, against two of its rivals, the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes CLS. The Mercedes CLS is the model that started the four-door coupe class, and the Porsche Panamera seems to us a bit more up market than the A7.

One of the most popular versions of the Audi A7 is the 3.0 TDI model, which is powered by a 245 hp and 500 Nm of torque. apart from being reasonably powerful, Audi's A7 3.0 TDI also offers good efficiency, with a 39.20 mpg (6 l / 100 km) fuel consumption and a 158 g/km CO2 emissions level.

The Porsche Panamera Diesel has a 3.0-liter V6

engine that's good for 250 hp and 550 Nm of torque. This puts it very close to the A7. With a 6.3 l / 100 KM fuel consumption and a 167 g/km CO2 emissions level, the Panamera diesel is just slightly less efficient than the A7.

The comparable 2011 Mercedes CLS diesel version is the CLS350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. This version of Merc's CLS is powered by a 265 hp and a 620 Nm of torque V6 engine and it's equipped with Start / Stop technology for improved fuel economy.
