The updated 2014 Porsche Panamera model range has been unveiled today, together with the new S E-Hybrid version of the luxury saloon. The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid introduces the plug-in hybrid technology to the executive segment for the first time. The 2014 Porsche Panamera S and 4S come with the new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, which promises to improve the model's fuel economy by up to 56%. The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid comes with a new electric motor that develops 95 hp (70 kW). This more than twice the output of the previous model. The 2014 Panamera Hybrid is equipped with a 9.4 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be recharged in just 2.5 hours. In terms of efficiency, the 2014 Panamera E-Hybrid promises to offer a 91 mpg combined fuel economy and a 71 g/km CO2 emissions level.
The new hybrid Panamera (2014) has a range of up to 22 miles (36 km) when running on electricity only. Porsche says that a realistic range would be between 11 and 22 miles.
Porsche's official specifications say that the 2014 Panamera hybrid is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.5 seconds and that it can reach a top speed of 168 mph. During all-electric operation it can reach a maximum speed of 84 mph.
With the new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, the 2014 Panamera S and 4S gain 20 hp and 20 Nm of torque (520 Nm). They both require 18% less fuel than the current V8 models.
Most versions of the 2014 Porsche Panamera come with the 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, however, an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox is available for the Diesel and S E-Hybrid versions of the executive sedan. The 2014 Panamera comes with start/stop and a coasting function on all PDK models, except the GTS.
In terms of design, the new Porsche Panamera (2014) comes with a few subtle changes. These include larger air intakes, a more swept-back rear window, a more prominent nose, a new tailgate, a wider rear window and a wider rear spoiler. Porsche's 2014 version of the Gran Turismo comes with LED headlights, a camera-based traffic sign detection system and a lane departure warning.

Porsche did not announce the 2014 Panamera's price list, but they do mention it will go on sale from July.
