Mercedes-Benz USA announced today the price list of the new generation 2012 Mercedes CLS for the North American market. The price for the top of the line, 2012 CLS63 AMG was also announced today. The 2012 Mercedes CLS will be available on the USA market in three versions, the CLS550, the all-wheel-drive CLS550 4MATIC and the high-performance CLS63 AMG. The 2012 CLS550 is powered by a 4.6-liter direct-injection twin-turbo V8 engine developing 402 hp and 443 lb-ft. of torque. In comparison to the previous version of the CLS550, the 2012 model offers a 26% improved mileage, with 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

The American version of the 2012 Mercedes CLS comes equipped with PRE-SAFE, ABS anti-lock

brakes with Brake Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST, traction control and the ESP electronic stability control. Some of the options Mercedes offers with the 2012 CLS include the Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist systems.

The 2012 Mercedes CLS63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter direct-injection V8 engine which sends 518 hp and 516 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a 7-speed MCT (multi-clutch technology) sport transmission. The 2012 CLS63 AMG can be equipped with Merc's AMG Performance Package which



increases the output to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes says the new 2012 CLS63 AMG offers a fuel consumption of 15 mpg in the city and 23 mph on the highway.

The 2012 Mercedes CLS USA price list starts at 71,300 USD for the CLS550 and at 73,800 USD for the CLS550 4MATIC. The top of the range 2012 Mercedes CLS63 AMG will cost you at least 94,900 USD. These prices do not include the 875 USD destination charge.
