Reynard, the British company that builds the Reynard Inverter race car, has announced that the model is now available as a road car. The Reynard Inverter road car has passed the UK's IVA road test on the first try and can be driven on Births public roads from now on. This means you can take your Reynard Inverter road car for a nice drive around the country side, after which you can take it to the track as a dedicated racer.

The Reynard Inverter is one of the most extreme rides you can take on public roads. It's fitted with a Lotus Elise based suspension, which will not go easy on your back. the power of the Reynard Inverter road car comes from a 1340 cc Suzuki Hayabusa engine with 200 hp or a 1000cc Honda Fireblade engine with 180 hp.

Although these output figures are not extremely impressive, we also have to say that the Reynard Inverter road car weighs only 490 kg. It's top speed is rated at 135 mph.

The manufacturer also says it's been developing an electric version of the Reynard Inverter which will output around 200 hp.

The Reynard Inverter road car price has not been announced yet. The manufacturer says it's

confident his performance model will take one of the top spots on the Top Gear laptime board, and if the popular TV show had a cornering performance ranking, the car will most definitely be at the very top.
