Sportec Porsche 997 Turbo Aerodynamics In spite of high-tech and ever increasing human knowledge:

There are challenges Sportec will always try to find new answers to. The problem of air resistance acting on bodies was defined by Bernoulli’s principle some 300 years ago. Today, car manufacturers ask themselves the same question: How to minimise air resistance in order to save fuel while gaining velocity? The Sportec Porsche 997 Turbo aerodynamics were not only conceived for the sake of aesthetics, but rather serve an important function: The Sportec Porsche 997 Turbo

gains additional driving comfort and safety. Especially at speeds over 200 km/h, the optional Sportec front apron increases the intake pressure acting on the front wheels and thus provides the Sportec Porsche 997 Turbo with additional track stability.

Thanks to the special positioning of the air vents, the modified front assures an ideal air supply for both engine and braking system. Even at high speed, the combination of rear apron and spoiler forces the rear wheels of the Sportec Porsche 997 Turbo down to the tarmac.

Engine conversion

Striving for perfection requires hard work. It calls for a will that will never be content with a good result, unless it is the best one. This is the will that makes a top athlete a world champion of his class. It will take the winner to the very top of the medallists’ podium and spare him the thankless second place. Since 1997, Swiss tuner Sportec focussed on the vehicle range of the traditional makes Audi, VW and Porsche. Shortly after the foundation of the company, the experts from Höri concentrated on the modification and improvement of turbochargers.

In the course of time, Sportec equally acquired the mastery of electronics, engine mechanics, exhaust optimisation and design. Step by step, the entire territory of higher vehicle customisation was conquered with the help of competent personnel and state-of-the-art working methods. A gain in elegance and power – without the slightest loss in comfort and road capability. A concentration of good vibrations all around the automobile. The engine, optimised by means of their own turbochargers, constitutes each vehicle’s central dynamic element. As a matter of course, all components involved are redesigned in order to meet the new requirements of this gain in

performance – a decisive factor to guarantee long durability and unspoiled pleasure.

Chassis/Safety

The conglomeration of Sportec’s know-how, experience and manpower is entirely dedicated to the creation of the ultimate driving experience. However, there is something more important to them than your driving pleasure: They want you to arrive safely. Three main components constitute the pillars of their safety package: the reinforcements to engine, brakes and chassis. The enormous acceleration torque of each Sportec derivative is already in itself an increase in safety: By quickening the overtaking process, it reduces the risks. Naturally, the gained speed

resources call for an evenly matched braking management, and thus each of their high-performance braking systems works with at least six pistons while the brake discs have diameters ranging from 350mm to 380mm. Their special perforation assures an ideal ventilation of the braking system. The modified chassis, with its adjusted springs and shock absorbers, guarantees a somnambulistic track stability: Even at extreme speeds, the Sportec Porsche 997 Turbo seems to run on tracks and can easily be kept under control.
