UK considers banning smoking in cars

 »  »  »

The UK the Royal College of Physicians has announced today that it considers banning smoking in cars. They say this will help motorist save money and also improve the health of their children who are passive smoking along with their parents.

From our experience, many countries tried to enforce such a law, but with not much success. We don't think there's a need for such a law since It's common sense not to smoke in an enclosed space when there are children around.

However, there is a real downside on smoking in cars. In time the interior will start smelling like an old dirty ashtray and because of this the resale value could drop considerably. You could take out the smell of cigarettes out of a car, but it will require replacing the upholstery, headlinings and other interior trim parts.
