The Group B was part of the international rally stage only for four years, but made an everlasting impression. The Group B was a party for some of the maddest rally cars ever to compete in such races. Group B was introduced in 1982 and by 1987 it was stopped. Some of the big brands that competed in these rallies include Lancia and Audi, Ferrari and Porsche.
Why did Group B had such an immense success? The speeds at which the rally cars were running have never been matched again, and when there's speed, there are also crashes. In fact a lot of them, some of which were fatal. after just 4 years FIA banned Group B rally cars as they were deemed to dangerous.
If you haven't had the chance to see those rally cars in action, or just want a refreshment of those days, the video after the jump is just the thing for you.
