These Volkswagen Pickup live images have been takes at the 2008 Hanover Commercial Vehicle Show where the new concept had its debut. The manufacturer announced that the Volkswagen Pickup will enter the market next year, being the first to enter the 1-tonne pick-up market with an original design.
The Volkswagen Pickup is a crew-cab 4x4, but a basic single-cab version is also expected. It's based on a an all-new platform, and is of traditional body-on-chassis construction.
Stephan Schaller, CEO of VW Commercial Vehicles said that the new Volkswagen Pickup will be powered by a common-rail turbodiesel engine that will be "a groundbreaking development in the pick-up segment".
