Wimmer Porsche GT2 RS Gets 1,020 hp

Wimmer launched today a new version of their upgrade program for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which increases the output of the supercar to 1,020 hp! This 1,000+ hp Wimmer Porsche GT2 RS is powered by the standard 3.6-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder boxer engine, which has received several modifications. To get the extra umpf, Wimmer replaced the turbochargers, optimized the air intake, the sports camshafts and the crankshaft. The 911 GT2 RS also received new timing chains, machined cylinder heads, pistons and connecting rods, a new fuel pump, two manifolds with bypass and two 200 cell sport catalysts. Wimmer's program for the Porsche GT2 RS also includes a new exhaust system, 19-inch alloys a 3-way adjustable KW suspension. The total output of the car is rated at 1,020 hp at 7,340 rpm and 1,108 Nm torque at 5,680 rpm.

Wimmer's official specifications say that their new Porsche 911 GT2 RS is able to get from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 389 km/h. They also say that this new 911 GT2 RS is capable of getting from nought to 120 mph in 8.7 seconds and to 180 mph in 15.5 seconds.

Wimmer did not disclose the price of their new power kit for the Porsche GT2 RS.
