The enviroSportscar Series announced today is a totally new racing series aimed at energy-efficient, low CO2 emissions sportscars. The enviroSportscar Series will feature vehicles from both major and niche car manufacturers that have very low levels of CO2 emissions coupled with impressive performance levels.
The enviroSportscar Series will include circuit racing, drag racing and city –based regularity / economy rallies, and will be staged throughout Europe.
The new series will use a performance balancing system similar to the one used in the FIA GT3 and drag racing will use a handicap system.
The enviroSportscar Series is planned to start in 2010 and will feature more than 10 rounds with some of them being held in the center of important European cities like Monaco, London, Paris or Berlin.
Until then, the organizers of the enviroSportscar Series will hold demonstrations events next year.
