In the first episode of the new series of Fifth Gear, TV presenter and racecar driver Tiff Needell puts the new 2012 Jaguar XKR-S against a legendary cat, the Jaguar XJ220. Back in 1992 when it was first launched, the Jaguar XJ220 was one of the fastest supercars of the moment. Its 500 hp, 6.2-liter V12 engine and $580,000 USD price tag made it one of the most exclusive cars on the market. The 2012 Jaguar XKR-S is powered by a supercharged V8 engine, which outputs 550PS and 680Nm of torque. With 50 hp more, the Jaguar XKR-S may be the winner of this race, but the all-wheel-drive system of the XJ220 might have the last word.
