Jaguar XKR S Cabriolet

 »  »  »

Jaguar is currently developing a cabriolet version of their 2012 XKR-S, which will probably go on sale sometime next year. Currently, the Jaguar XKR-S Cabriolet is in a testing phase and it was spotting doing runs on the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife race track in Germany. The 2012 XKR-S convertible will have the same aggressive styling as the coupe, including the vented hood, the low front spoiler, the rear boot lid wing and the rear diffuser. Just as the coupe, the XKR-S convertible will have twin double exhaust pipes, which suggests that it will be powered by the same engine. The XKR-S cabrio will feature a canvas soft-top, which will probably open and close automatically.

The convertible XKR-S Jag will be powered by a

5-liter supercharged V8 engine, with an output of 550 PS and 680 Nm of torque. With this engine, the coupe version of the XKR-S can get from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and can accelerate up to a top speed of 186mph (300km/h). The cabriolet version however, might not offer the same performance figures, because of the added weight of the various reinforcements required by the absence of the roof.

We'll have more details on the Jaguar XKR-S convertible as soon as they're available.
