As announced, Audi premiered today the new generation 2012 A6 Avant (estate / station wagon), and released the full details of the new version, together with images and videos. Audi's new A6 Avant measures 4.93 m in length, 1.86 m in width, 1.46 m in height and has a 2.84 m wheelbase. This means that the 2012 A6 Avant offers increased space for all passengers, while having a 565 liters (1,660 liters when the rear seats are folded) luggage capacity.
The engine line-up of the 2012 Audi A6 Avant includes three petrol and three TDI diesel engines. The petrol versions of the 2012 A6 Avant include the 4.2 V8 (246 kW (335 bhp), 420 Nm), the 3.2 V6 FSI (188 kW (255 bhp), 330 Nm) and the 2.4 V6 (130 kW (177 bhp), 230 Nm).
For the diesel oriented customers, the 2012 A6 Avant model range offers the very popular 3.0 V6 TDI (165 kW (225 bhp), 450 Nm), the 2.7 V6 TDI (132 kW (180 bhp), 380 Nm) and the entry level 2.0 TDI (103 kW (140 bhp), 320 Nm).
Audi will sell the 2012 A6 Avant with either a front-wheel-drive system or the renowned quattro permanent four-wheel drive system. In terms of transmissions, the 2012 Audi A6 Avant range will let you choose between a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed tiptronic or variable multitronic automatic transmission.
In terms of standard options, the new features of the 2012 Audi A6 Avant include an emergency braking function that alerts the vehicles behind when the brakes are applied hard, an optimized understeering control system, and a trailer stabilization function.
The options list of Audi's 2012 A6 Avant includes the adaptive air suspension, a tire pressure monitoring system, adaptive light technology with xenon plus and daytime running lights, adaptive cruise control, a radar-assisted distance control system, and an advanced key access and authorization system.
The 2012 Audi A6 Avant price list starts in Europe at 40,850 EUR and the manufacturer says the new model will go on sale there this summer. In the UK, Audi will start accepting orders for the 2012 A6 Avant from June, with the first deliveries beginning in November. The 2012 Audi A6 Avant will cost you in the UK at least 32,100 GBP.
