2012 Brabus Rocket Mercedes CLS

It looks like Brabus has a third surprise for the 2011 IAA Frankfurt auto show - the new 2012 Brabus Rocket based on the 2011 Mercedes CLS. Even though the aftermarket specialist's new hybrid and electric E Class prototypes are spectacular, but you can't really compare them to the successor of the world's most powerful sedan. The 2012 Brabus Rocket 800, which is now based on the latest generation 2011 CLS, is powered by a mighty V12 engine which has an output of 800 PS and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. In fact, the nuclear power station hidden beneath the bonnet of the 2012 Brabus Rocket outputs 1,420 Nm (1047 lb-ft), but it had to be limited to stop the tires from bursting.

The 2012 Brabus Rocket CLS comes with the

Mercedes 7-speed Speedshift MCT automatic transmission from AMG and a rear-wheel-drive system. Preliminary tests showed that the 2012 Brabus Rocket is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and that it has a top speed of 230 mph (370 km/h). Brabus says that the 2012 Rocket CLS is able to get from 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph) in just 23.8 seconds.

Apart from the massive increase in performance (we'll get the exact details and specifications in a few hours), the 2012 Brabus Rocket also comes with a new, and extremely aggressive aerodynamics

package. The new body kit of the CLS includes a new front apron with large air intakes, a new front grille and bonnet, wider wheel arches, new fenders, and rather large, and not very tasteful if you ask us, boot lid wing. But the Brabus Rocket is all about performance, and not so much about looks, right? The 12 Brabus Rocket also comes with a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser, and two double exhaust pipes, left and right.

At the interior, Brabus fitted their new Rocket with a new steering wheel, and probably replaced the CLS's stock speedometer with one that goes up to 370 km/h.

The 2012 Brabus Rocket price was set at €429,000 Euros, which does not include taxes. We'll have more details on the 2012 Brabus Rocket as soon as they're available.
