Carlsson Mercedes CLS63 AMG

The Carlsson tuners have chosen as their centerpiece for the 2011 Geneva auto show, the new Mercedes CLS63 AMG. The Carlsson CLS63 AMG is in many ways, a perfect sleeper. Although quite a few in numbers, the tell tail signs of the volcano under its hood are noticeable only if you pay attention to the details. The body kit of the Carlsson Mercedes CLS63 AMG includes a carbon fiber front spoiler lip, stainless steel grille inserts, rear spoiler and a new rear apron with an integrated diffuser.

Not like other aftermarket specialists, Carlsson are not very keen on huge air vents, massive rear wings, and side skirts that fall off at every speed bump. All these aerodynamic upgrades are visible only on paper. If you're going to see one

of these on the street, you'll think "something's different about this CLS", but you won't be able to put your finger on it until you've come second to the next stop light. And this is why... Carlsson has upgraded the output of the Mercedes CLS63 AMG to 600 hp (441 kW). That's 82 hp more than the standard CLS63 AMG. Although they haven't released any performance figures, the 4.4 seconds to 100 km/h of the factory version must have dropped quite a bit. In terms of styling, the only thing that really catches your eye with Carlsson's CLS63 AMG are the oval tail pipes, left and right, and the white fins on the rear diffuser.

At the interior, it's a whole different story. Carlsson's Mercedes CLS63 AMG program includes Nappa leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, root wood and, as they say, several other natural materials.

So, the Carlsson Mercedes CLS63 AMG promises power, performance, discreet styling and an exquisite interior. What about keeping you safe in the corners? The Carlsson CLS63 AMG comes equipped with a C-Tronic SUSPENSION (spelled in caps because it's one of the tuner's patented technology) which adjusts every 150 milliseconds, and a 30 mm lowered suspension.

And here comes the good part. You can get almost every bit of kit that's on Carlsson's Mercedes CLS63 AMG, on your 2011 CLS350 CDI. The only thing missing is the power, obviously. However, Carlsson will give you the opportunity of 265 hp (195kW) on your 2011 Mercedes CLS, thanks to their C-Tronic DIESEL POWER control unit. With this gizmo tucked beneath your hood, you'll get your 2011 Mercedes CLS350 CDI to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, respecting EURO5 exhaust emission standards in the process.
