2012 Mercedes ML prototype involved in fatal crash

On April 23rd, on Autobahn A81 in Germany, a 2012 Mercedes ML prototype was involved in a fatal crash which resulted in one victim. Apparently, a 52-year-old test driver from Mercedes hit a 26-year-old as he was exiting his own car. The young man died instantly and the test driver from Mercedes was taken to hospital with serious injuries. After the impact, the 2012 Mercedes ML prototype was thrown through the air for around 250 feet and landed on its roof.

This crash was preceded by a minor one which involved the 26-year-old victim. Apparently he had some problems with the car and crashed into the median.

The total property damage is estimated to be

around the 80,000 EUR mark.

The test driver that crashed the 2012 Mercedes ML prototype was previously involved in another incident back in 2003. In that event, a 21-year-old woman and her two year old daughter were killed.
