A new 2012 Mercedes ML spy video surfaced the web recently, showing a few camouflaged prototypes testing in cold weather. The 2012 Mercedes ML was caught on tape in Sweden, as it was tested on snow and ice. Mercedes hasn't released any details yet regarding the new generation 2012 ML Class, but some speculation can be made. Mercedes will most probably put the 2012 ML on sale with a choice between petrol and diesel engines, and with two-wheel-drive as well as with its 4Matic AWD system. Later during the SUV's life, the new 2012 Mercedes ML AMG will also find its way into Merc's dealerships.

The standard, non-AMG version of the 2012 Mercedes ML will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine developing a little more than 300hp and

a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. Diesel engines are also expected. The 2012 Mercedes ML range will offer more efficient versions, with lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Some of the eco-friendly technologies that will make their way onto the 2012 ML include Start / Stop and direct injection.

The 2012 Mercedes ML AMG will be powered by the new 5.5-liter engine that will have to output more than 500 hp to be able to keep with the BMW X5M.

We'll have more details on Merc's 2012 ML Class soon. Meanwhile, watch the camouflage prototypes playing in the snow in the video after the jump.
