The new generation 2012 Mercedes SLK63 AMG was just spied days ago during test runs on the famous Nurburgring race track. Even though Merc's 2012 SLK 63 AMG was completely covered in black tape, the tell-tail signs of the monster engine under its hood are clearly seen. The camouflaged SLK shows all the known AMG trademarks, including the twin, oval, double exhaust pipes, a new front bumper and the disk brakes the size of the moon.
Even though the new 2012 SLK63 AMG was already seen in public, its exact specs are still a mystery. Mercedes has a choice between two engines it could fit in the SLK63 AMG. It could either use the previous, 6.2-liter V8 developing 451 hp, or the new, 5.5-liter V8 biturbo that
outputs 537 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Seeing that 537 hp would be just too much for a vehicle the size of the 2012 SLK63 AMG, Mercedes might choose a third, less powerful 5.5-liter V8 with 'just' 422 hp.
We'll have more info on the 2012 Mercedes SLK63 AMG as soon as it is available.
