The 2013 Ford Flex is premiered today at the 2011 LA Auto Show and it will probably go on sale in the following months. Ford's 2013 Flex comes with a new exterior and interior design, an upgraded engine and innovative technologies. In terms of exterior styling, the 2013 Flex tries to get away from the boxy design. It features more rounded edges, a new front grille and re-designed headlights. A large "FLEX" badges sits on the front of the car. The 2013 Ford Flex's rear also features new styling elements, including new rear light clusters and an updated bumper.

At the interior, Ford's 2013 Flex features new dials, a new steering wheel and re-styled electronic finish panels. The 2013 Ford Flex is also equipped with a refrigerated console located near the second row of seats.

For the 2013 Flex, Ford is offering an updated version of the 3.5-liter V6 engine, which now features twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). This results in a higher power and torque output. The 2013 Flex is good for 285 hp and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. The new Ford Flex is also more efficient, offering an "impressive" 1 mpg. The 2013 Ford Flex is rated with an 18-mpg fuel consumption in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The 2013 Ford Flex will also be sold with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, developing 355 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines will be coupled with the 6-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission.

Some of the technological highlights featured by the 2013 Flex include the EPAS (electric power-assisted steering), and Ford's latest generation of the MyFord Touch system with SYNC.
