Daimler revealed today the 2013 Mercedes-Benz G Class, which should reach the showrooms sometime this June / August (depending on the market). The 2013 G Class continues a long history, which started back in 1979, and comes with countless updates, but no significant changes to its general look and feel. The 2013 Mercedes G Class will be available In Europe as the G350 BlueTEC, the G500, the G500 Cabrio, and two AMG versions, the G63 and the G65. The United States market will get the G550 and the mighty G63 AMG. The United Kingdom market will also get just two versions of the 2013 G Class, which include the G350 BlueTEC and the G63 AMG. The petrol version of the 2013 Mercedes G-Class comes with a 5.5-liter V8 engine, which has an output of 388 hp and 530 Nm of torque. If you want the more economical version of the 2013 G Class, you should choose the new G350 diesel, which has a fuel consumption of 11.2 l/100 km/h (25.2 mpg combined).

The non-AMG versions of the 2013 Mercedes G Class are available in two versions: as a long-wheelbase station wagon and as a short-wheelbase Cabriolet. With the new G Class (2013), Mercedes aims to continue the off-road tradition of the model.



Even so, its interior is made using high-quality materials, showing that the G Class will continue to be an elegant vehicle for going out at night. Mercedes' 2013 G Class comes with redesigned center console and instrument cluster, and it's equipped with the COMAND Online infotainment system. COMAND includes the nav system, a large color screen, a DVD changer, the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system and Bluetooth connectivity. A first for the 2013 G Class is the TFT color display, which is located between the two dials of the instrument cluster.

Optionally, the 2013 Mercedes G Class can be equipped with the DISTRONIC PLUS system, the Blind Spot Assist and the PARKTRONIC system, which includes a reversing camera. The new G Class (2013) benefits from a re-engineered ESP, which now includes the Trailer Stability Assist and a HOLD function. For off-road duty, the new Mercedes G Class (2013) comes equipped with 3 electrically controlled 100-percent differential locks, a ladder frame and a rigid axle.

In terms of exterior design, the 2013 G Class comes with minimal changes. Mercedes gave it new LED daytime running lights and new side mirrors.

The price of the 2013 Mercedes G-Class for the USA market has not been confirmed yet, but Daimler says it will put it on sale here in August. In the UK, the new G-Class will go on sale this fall. For the rest of Europe, where the new version will go on sale this June, the price list looks like this:
