After the first images of the facelifted 2014 E Class sedan and estate surfaced the web a few days ago, Mercedes decided to officially reveal both models. We guess we'll have to wait a bit longer for the coupe and convertible versions of the 2014 Mercedes E Class. Both versions of the facelifted Mercedes E Class (2014), the sedan and the estate (station wagon) come with revised exterior and interior styling, and with updated and more efficient engines. The petrol range of the new 2014 E Class is going to include V6 and V8 engines with power outputs ranging from 184 hp to 300 hp. The petrol range of the new E Class (2014) includes the E200, the E250, the E300, the E350, the E400 and the top of the range E500. The 2014 Mercedes E300, E350, E400 and the E500 are going to be available with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system too.
The diesel range of the 2014 E Class includes the E200 CDI, the E220 CDI, the E300 BlueTEC, and the E350 BlueTEC. Some of the models come with the 4MATIC system.
In terms of design, the front end of both the 2014 Mercedes E Class sedan and the estate shows new headlights, a modified front grill and a new bumper, which looks quite nice in the AMG package trim. At the rear, there are slightly modified tail lights and a new apron. The new Mercedes E Class (2014) comes with a new interior too.
The executive model comes with a new four-spoke steering wheel, a slightly modified center console with new air vents, and new dials.
For the 2014 E Class, Mercedes combined their two safety systems, the PRE-SAFE and the DISTRONIC PLUS, in a single unit called "intelligent drive". Among the novelties brought by this new system we must mention the Stereo Multi-Purpose Camera, which features "two eyes" set at an angle of 45 degrees. It can "see" at up to 500 meters. The new E Class (2014) comes as standard with Collision Prevention Assist, and Attention Assist. The optional safety systems include, among others, the DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist, the Brake Assist system BAS PLUS with Junction Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
The 2014 Mercedes E Class sedan and estate will go on sale in the United States this spring, however, the German carmaker did not yet disclose the model's price list.
