The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander and the new 2013 Outlander Sport Limited Edition had their world debut today at the 2012 LA Auto Show. The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander measures 183.3 inches in length, 66.1 inches in height, and 70.9 inches in width. Its power comes from a 2.4-liter aluminum SOHC MIVEC 4-cylinder engine that's good for 166 hp at 6000 rpm and 162 lb.-ft. of torque at 4200 rpm. This engine comes with a Continuously-variable transmission (CVT). Mitsubishi 2014 Outlander GT is powered by a larger 3.0-liter aluminum SOHC MIVEC 6-cylinder engine that develops 224 hp at 6250 rpm and 215 lb.-ft. of torque at 3750 rpm. The 2014 Outlander GT is equipped with 6-speed automatic gearbox. Mitsubishi did not disclose the fuel economy figures of the new Outlander (2014), but they do mention it's one of the most efficient 7-seat crossovers on the market today.

Mitsubishi will sell the new 2014 Outlander with the HVAC interior heating/cooling system and their Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system, that's also found on the Evo. For a lower fuel consumption, the 2014 Outlander is going to have an ECO driving mode.

The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander's equipment list includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning. Other safety systems offered by Mitsubishi for the new Outlander (2014) include seven airbags, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and the carmaker's RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) impact-absorbing safety cell technology.
