Mitsubishi unveiled the latest generation of the Outlander (2013) at this year's Geneva motor show. This is the third generation of the crossover, which aims to continue the 11-year success of the model. The Mitsubishi Outlander (2013) comes with a completely new exterior design, loosing the fighter jet inspired front fascia pioneered by the Evo X. Its headlights front bumper, front grille, and rear end have been completely re-designed. Mitsubishi's 2013 Outlander looks slightly less aggressive and in comparison to its predecessor. Apart from making the Evo a hybrid, this is yet another sign that the brand is now heading in a totally different direction. Mitsubishi says that the design brief for the new Outlander (2013) has three important directions: Solid, Safe and Simple.

The new Mitsubishi Outlander (2013) is basically the same size as its predecessor (4655mm long), which means it offers about the same amount of interior space and a similar cargo capacity. The interior of the new Outlander (2013) features silver and wood surfaces as well as gloss black trim parts.

Mitsubishi will sell the new Outlander (2013) with a choice between two engines, a petrol and a diesel. The 2013 Outlander petrol has a 2.0-liter engine developing 150 PS at 6,000 rpm and 195 Nm of torque between 4,100 rpm and 4,200 rpm.

This version of the crossover will be available with either a 5-spped manual transmission or a CVT gearbox. The diesel version of the 2013 Outlander is powered by the 2.2 DiD engine, which is good for 150 PS at 3,500 rpm and 380 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. The diesel Outlander will come with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Both versions of the model come with either a front-wheel-drive or an AWD system.

The equipment list of the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander includes the Automatic Stop & Go system, Adaptive Cruise Control, a Forward Collision Mitigation system, Lane Departure Warning system and Super-HiD Wide Vision xenon headlights.

Mitsubishi improved the practicality of the 2013 Outlander, which now offers a 1.69m long loading floor, when the seats are folded. This is 335 mm more than before.

The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander's price list and availability will be announced at a later date.
