Subaru revealed today the new generation 2014 Forester, ahead of the SUV's debut, which is going to take place at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2014 Subaru Forester comes with a completely new front end design and, even if we don't have any images yet, we're pretty sure it has a new rear end too. For the new Forester (2014) Subaru's designers have created new headlights, a fresh new grille and new bumpers. We use the plural because it seems that the 2014 Forester is going to be available with two versions of the front bumper, one of them having a more aggressive look than the other. Subaru says that the new Forester (2014) offers more interior space for passengers and their luggage, even though the exterior dimensions of the SUV have not changed.

The 2014 Subaru Forester is going to be sold with a choice between two engines. The entry level model is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder BOXER engine, mated to a 6-speed manual or a Lineartronic CVT transmission. This version has an output of 170 hp at 5,800 rpm and 174 lb.-ft. peak torque at 4,100 rpm. Subaru will also offer the 2014 Forester with a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter 4-cylinder BOXER engine with direct injection that develops 250 hp at 5,600 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. peak torque at 2,000-4,800 rpm. The 2014 Forester 2.0 comes with a high-torque CVT gearbox with 6-speed and 8-speed manual modes and with Hill Descent Control.

Both versions of the Forester (2014) come with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard.

The new Forester measures 180.9 inches in length, 68.2 inches in height, and 70.7 inches in width. It has a 103.9-inch wheelbase. The equipment list of the 2014 Subaru Forester includes smartphone integration, navigation, a rear view camera, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system.

The 2014 Subaru Forester's price and availability is going to be announced at a later date.
