The Australian press has released this week the initial Subaru Forester STI info, saying the Japanese carmaker is planning to bring a performance version of the SUV on the market. Actually, the Subaru Forester STI denomination is a speculation of the press. The company however, did say it will unveil a performance version of the SUV at the Sydney auto show, but it did not mention any other details.
The Japanese market has seen a Forester STI, but it was based on the previous version of the model, and sold only on the manufacturer's home market. That version of the Forester STI has the same engine as the Impreza.
If the story will repeat itself, and let's hope
it will, the new Subaru Forester STI will have a 300+ hp engine under its hood. Now that would be a serious tool.
