The Subaru Forester tS has been unveiled today and yes, it's developed by STI and yes, it's full of STI badges and all the jewelry you would expect from Subaru's performance division. Unfortunately, out Japanese is a little rusty and we couldn't translate the whole Subaru Forester tS official press release. However, we did manage to get the most important bits regarding the Subaru Forester tS.
Apparently, the Subaru Forester tS is powered by a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder turbo engine. It this is the same unit as the one on the Impreza, the Subaru Forester tS might develop the 300+ hp. However, the official info does not disclose the power output of the Subaru Forester tS.

The Subaru Forester tS features a new aerodynamics package, including new front and rear bumpers, front grille, side skirts, a rear roof spoiler and a rear diffuser. The Subaru Forester tS sits on new alloys wheels and comes with a new exhaust system with two tailpipes, left and right. We're not sure whether or not the Subaru Forester tS will get the distinctive STI exhaust note.
The Subaru Forester tS comes with a re-tuned suspension, with new damping, coilover springs, and a rear torsion bar.
The interior of the Subaru Forester tS features a leather wrapped steering wheel, Alcantara inserts, a special door trim, leather and Alcantara sport seats and a carbon fiber center console cover.
The Subaru Forester tS price list in Japan starts at 3,450,000 YEN and goes up to 3,622,500 Yen. At this point, the car maker has not announced when, or if, it will sell the STI Subaru Forester tS on other markets.
