The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible was unveiled at the end of last week as it prepares for its public debut that's going to take place this week at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. Chevrolet says that the new 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible did not need any structural reinforcements, additional to the ones of the coupe. This means that the weight of the open-top 2015 Corvette Z06 is the same as the one of the coupe. At the same time, the 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible is 20 percent stiffer than the previous coupe version of the sports car. Chevy is going to offer the new convertible Corvette Z06 (2015) with the Z07 Performance Package, which adds Brembo carbon-ceramic matrix brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires and adjustable front- and rear-aerodynamic components.
The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible (2015) comes with a fabric soft-top that is electronically operated via the car's key fob. The soft top can be operated at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h).
Chevrolet powers the 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible with the same LT4 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine as the one used in the coupe. This means that the convertible version of the 2015 Corvette Z06 develops 625 horsepower (466 kW) and 635 lb-ft of torque (861 Nm).
