A company called Quanta revealed recently a hybrid version of the Chevrolet Corvette. The Quanta Chevrolet Corvette Hybrid is based on the Z06 version of the sports coupe, which means it's powered by the LS7 engine that's good for 505 bhp (377 kW). The car is actually called the Quanta Corvette QHP770. Apart from the internal combustion engine, Quanta's hybrid Corvette Z06 is also equipped with two YASA 750 axial flux electric motors, which are integrated into the car's rear differential. Each of the electric motors develops 134 bhp, for a total of 268 bhp. According to Quanta, their hybrid Chevy Corvette Z06 has a total output of 770 bhp and an incredible 2,034 Nm of torque. The juice for the electric motors comes from 11.3 kWh lithium-polymer battery.

Gary Whiting, the engineer "responsible" for the Quanta Chevrolet Corvette Hybrid, says his car is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and that it can run the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds. So far, Quanta's Chevrolet Corvette Hybrid is just a prototype, but the company is going to put it into production in case there will be a demand for it. Its price has not been disclosed yet.
