As expected, the Bavarian carmaker has unveiled the new 2016 BMW 7 Series and we have to say, we are impressed. BMW's new 7 Series was designed to combine a revolutionary exterior and interior design, exclusivity, comfort, and, of course, an amazing driving experience. As you know, the 7 Series usually offers all the latest technology BMW has to offer. The 2016 version is not an exception to that rule. There's no point in blabbering about the design of the 2016 BMW 7 Series, because the images and videos are pretty much self explanatory. However, we will emphasize some of the other features of BMW's flagship model. For starters, the 2016 BMW 7 Series comes with carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the body structure, more efficient engines, including a plug-in hybrid powertrain (the 740e), an active chassis system (Executive Drive Pro), Laser headlights, and an ADAPTIVE mode for the Driving Experience Control switch.

For the rear compartment of the new 7 Series (2016), BMW is offering the Executive Lounge feature. This includes massaging seats, a Vitality Program, a Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof, a Welcome Light Carpet, ambient lighting, and all the smartphone and tablet functions you'll ever need.

As far as driver assist functions go, the new 2016 BMW 7 Series comes with crossing traffic warning, the steering and lane control assistant, active side collision protection and a newly developed Head-Up Display.

As we mentioned yesterday, the new 2016 BMW 7 Series is 130 kg lighter than its predecessor. This means it handles better, it offers more performance and it is more efficient. The engines and transmissions have been updated. The top of the range model is the 750Li, which is powered by a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 that produces 450 hp and 650 Nm of torque. This is enough to get you from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds. The 2016 BMW 740i, and the 2016 740Li (long wheelbase) come with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder powertrain that puts out 326 hp and 450 Nm of torque. If you're interested in a diesel, you can choose between the 2016 BMW 730d, the 730Ld, or their all-wheel-drive xDrive versions. What you'll get is a 3.0-liter TwinPower diesel engine with 265 hp and 620 Nm of torque. The fastest one is the BMW 730d xDrive with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 5.8 seconds. The hybrid BMW 740e (BMW 740Le, BMW 740Le xDrive) gets a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged petrol engine (258 hp and 400 Nm) and an electric motor (95 hp and 250 Nm) for a total output of 326 hp. The BMW 740e is rated with a zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint time of 5.6 seconds.

The 2016 BMW 7 Series brings a world premiere: the Remote Control Parking system. This system enables the car to get in and out of forward-parking spaces without anyone at the steering wheel. You'll be able to do this using the newly developed BMW Display Key. However, you'll still have to watch for obstacles while doing it.

For those of you looking to get a more exclusive experience out of your 2016 7-Series Bimmer, there's the Individual program, obviously. And if you're looking for a more "driving" oriented experience, the 2016 BMW 7 Series M Sport is available from launch.

The new 2016 BMW 7 Series appears to offer comfort, connectivity, and a good working environment, when going to the office, a relaxing environment when coming from the office, and a true driving experience, when you feel like it. Not many cars in this world can accomplish all of them. Here are the full specifications of the 2016 BMW 7 Series. The launch date and the price list of the 2016 BMW 7 Series are going to be announced at a later date.
