The aftermarket specialists from AC Schnitzer announced today that they will premiere their BMW 1 Series M upgrade program at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show next week. The AC Schnitzer BMW 1 Series M program includes upgrades in terms of aerodynamics, handling and performance. AC Schnitzer upgraded the 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine of the BMW 1 Series M coupe from 340 hp to 400 hp (295 kW), and they probably increased its torque output too. AC Schnitzer's body kit for the 1 Series M Bimmer includes a carbon fiber front spoiler, a new front grille, a new bonnet with two air vents, a rear boot lid wing and roof spoiler, and a carbon rear spoiler with an integrated diffuser. The AC Schnitzer 1 Series M coupe also comes with re-designed front fenders.

The AC Schnitzer BMW 1 Series M comes with a new exhaust system with twin silencers, a continuously adjustable racing suspension, and upgraded brakes. For better stopping power, AC Schnitzer fitted the 1 Series M with 380 x 35 mm brake discs and 6-piston calipers on the front axle and 355 x 32 mm discs with 4-piston calipers on the rear one. The brake pads, pipes and caliper mounting brackets have also been upgraded.

For the interior of the BMW 1 Series M coupe, AC Schnitzer is offering a new, 3-spoke, sports steering wheel (with airbag) covered in Alcantara, various gear knobs including one with a digital display for showing the gear you are in, and aluminum pedals.

AC Schnitzer did not announce the price of their BMW 1 Series M tuning program.
