Tuningwerk launched today a very serious power upgrade for BMW's new pocket rocket - the 1 Series M coupe. Thanks to an output of 521 hp (388 kW) and 614 Nm of torque from 2,800 rpm, Tuningwerk feels comfortable enough to name their new 1 Series M Bimmer the RS. The Tuningwerk BMW 1 Series M RS comes with various modifications, including recalibrated electronics (ECU), a custom cooling system with an additional secondary cooler, and a titanium exhaust system. Apart from giving the 1 Series M more power, Tuningwerk also modified the transmission, which now has a 3.25 ratio. A 3.45 ratio is also available. The Tuningwerk BMW 1 Series M also features a locking differential with a Drexler lock, a new clutch (a racing clutch is offered as an optional extra), a club sport suspension and optional H&R lightweight stabilizer bars.

Tuningwerk also lowered the weight of their BMW 1 Series M, which, with the help of a few small modifications, could receive a FIA certification for racing.

The body kit of the Tuningwerk BMW 1 Series M includes a GT4 front lip, engine hood, boot lid and a rear spoiler. At the interior, Tuningwerk's 1 Series M coupe features carbon fiber PolePosition Recaro seats, plastic side windows, and various other weight-saving parts. The car sits on 19-inch alloys, with Dunlop Sport Maxx tires, and steel Mov'it brakes with 370 mm discs. Optionally, Tuningwerk can fit your 1 Series M with 380 mm ceramic brake discs. The price of these modifications has not been announced up until this point.
