The iconic BMW aftermarket specialists from Alpina released today the first images of the new 2012 B6 Biturbo Cabrio, which is based on the latest generation, 2012 6 Series convertible. Alpina did not release a whole lot of details reading the new Alpina B6 Biturbo Cabriolet, but we did manage to find out that it will develop 507 hp at 5,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque from 3,000 to 4,750 rpm. Alpina managed to get the extra horsepower out of the Bimmer's 4.4 liter V8 with the help of a new twin-turbocharging system.

The 2012 Alpina B6 comes equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and it's capable of doing some real damage on the highway. Preliminary figures say that the Alpina B6 is able to reach a top speed of 311 km/h.

The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) has also been improved in comparison to the standard BMW 6 Series. The 2012 B6 Alpina convertible can do the standard acceleration test in 4.8 seconds.

Apart from the extra power, the Alpina B6 cabrio also comes with a few aerodynamic enhancements. Alpina's version of the 2012 6 Series convertible comes with a new carbon-fiber front spoiler lip, and it's also equipped with a bespoke exhaust system with four tail pipes.

We'll have more details on the Alpina B6 cabrio as soon as they're available.
