BMW has announced today that the BMW 1 Series M order books are now open in various countries around the globe. This means you can already place an order for your BMW 1 Series M before Christmas this year. however, the first deliveries of the new BMW 1 Series M will take place from next year. (A reminder of the BMW 1 Series M price in some countries: Germany - 50,500 EUR, UK - 39,990 GBP).
The first public display of the new BMW 1 Series M will take place at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The BMW 1 Series M is powered by the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that has been tuned to output 335 hp at 5,900 rpm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm.
The BMW 1 Series M is a true driver's car, so it has a manual gearbox. Apart from that, it also has an overboost function which ups the output by 50 Nm.
The official performance numbers of the BMW 1 Series M say it needs 4.7 seconds for the journey from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) and that it has a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
