Today's buzz seems to the fact that the BMW 135i M has been confirmed by Dr. Kay Segler, none other than the big boss at BMW's M division. Although the exact name of the car has not been confirmed, Auto News, the magazine which interviewed him, says it will be called the BMW 135i M.
The BMW 135i M price will be relatively low, since the company wants it to be the entry level model for the M series. The targeted market segment for the BMW 135i M is the young buyer who wishes to have a proper driving experience, so the price of the car will be set at a "decent" level. The current top of the range 2 Series coupe is the 135i which develops 306 hp. The next step in the M line is the M3 which outputs
420 hp. The BMW 135i M should be placed somewhere in the middle between these to in terms of power output.
The BMW 135i M unveiling and availability has not yet been made public. Dr. Segler however, mentioned that the BMW 135i M will be more of a collector's car, which means it will be produced in small numbers. If this is the case, expect the premium for a BMW 135i M to be quite substantial.
