According to recent reports, future BMW and Tesla models will be equipped with NVIDIA graphics processors for their multimedia systems. The 17-inch displays which will equip future BMW and Tesla cars will be powered by graphics processors developed and built by NVIDIA. If you're not familiar with sort of technology, NVIDIA is one of the most respected and reliable manufacturers of graphics cards for computers.
Recently, at a consumer electronics show, NVIDIA presented a BMW 5 Series equipped with just such technology. The multimedia screens of future BMW and Tesla cars will be able to offer a resolution of up to 1280 by 600 pixels thanks to the new NVIDIA micro-processors.
Further more, NVIDIA's technology is very energy efficient, which makes it the ideal candidate for electric cars. Tesla pops immediately into mind. Apparently, Tesla will use NVIDIA technology to also power its speedometer and other central dashboard clocks.
