BMW M3 GTS Nurburgring Lap Time

 »  »  »

Various sources are reporting today that the record BMW M3 GTS Nurburgring lap time has been set to 7 minutes and 48 seconds. The BMW M3 GTS Nurburgring lap time has not been officially confirmed by the German carmaker, but if it’s real, it means the GTS is the fastest BMW production model to ever run around the "Green Hell".

The BMW M3 GTS is powered by a 4,361 cc V8 engine that develops 450 hp at 8,300 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm. This means that a standard M3 is 30 hp and 40 Nm short of BMW M3 GTS's output. The official performance figures say the M3 GTS needs only 4.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h and that it has a top speed of 305 km/h. BMW also says that the GTS M3 needs only 22.5 seconds to

eat the first 1,000 m after starting from 0 km/h.

We've included after the jump a video of the BMW M3 GTS running laps around the Nurburgring, however this is not a record run that set the 7:48 lap time.
