In the latest episode of fifth Gear, Vicki Butler-Henderson reviews the BMW M3 GTS while she puts it to work on the race track. BMW built the M3 GTS for those fans for which a regular M3 is just too soft. Powered by a 4,361 cc V8 engine, the GTS M3 spits out 450 bhp and 440 Nm of torque. In comparison to the standard BMW M3 E92, the GTS has 30 hp and 40 Nm more. At the same time, GTS is also lighter in comparison to the standard M3.

In terms of performance figures, this translates into a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h. The BMW M3 GTS has a 16 mm lowered front suspension and a 12 mm lowered rear one. This results in better handling though the corners.

BMW says that the M3 GTS managed to set a record Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 48 seconds. However, they didn’t publish a video to prove it.

If you're looking for a direct competitor for the BMW M3 GTS, is the new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe. But this would not be an exact match. Merc's C63 AMG Coupe has 7 hp and 47 Nm more.
