BMW X6 xDrive50d Info

 »  »  »

Recently, a high performance diesel version of the BMW X6 was spied doing tests on the Nurburgring race track in Germany. Apparently, this was the BMW X6 xDrive50d, which could be a product of the company's M division. Earlier this week, we got word that BMW is developing an M version for the 5 Series diesel range, called the 550dXM. The X6 xDrive50d will probably use the same 550d engine as the BMW 550dXM in question, together with an all-wheel-drive system. Of course, if there is an X6, there also has to be an X5. This means that we'll soon see spy images of the BMW X5 xDrive50d.

Going back to the X6 xDrive50d spotted on the Nordschleife, we have to say that it has M written all over it.

The front bumper seems to be taken directly off an X6M and the prototype seems to have some sort of vents on its hood.

If the BMW X6 xDrive50d will be powered by the same engine as the rumored 5 Series, it means it will have a 3.0-liter triple-turbocharged engine, developing anything between 500 hp and 550 hp, with 700 Nm of torque.

We'll have more details on BMW's X6 xDrive50d as soon as they're available.
