CUT48, a German foil wrapping specialists, revealed today a new program for the Mercedes SLR. It appears that even with the arrival of the new SLS AMG, customers are still interested in customizing and upgrading their SLRs. The two-tone blue and black wrapping of the Mercedes SLR is going to cost you 4.350 Euro, which is a bit much, even if you can afford such a supercar. CUT48's program for the Mercedes SLR is not all about looks. They can also install a power kit developed by Edo Competition. Edo's power kit for the SLR includes a re-mapped ECU, a set of sport air filters, sport catalytic converters, a bespoke compressor, a new exhaust manifold and modified intake system. The result of all these modifications is a power output of 722 hp and 890 Nm of torque.
With so many ponies under its hood, the CUT48 Mercedes SLR is able to accelerate from zero to 200 km/h in just 10 seconds. This is faster than most cars are able to get from nought to 100 km/h. CUT48 says that the top speed of their Mercedes SLR is 345 km/h. The price of the power kit has not been disclosed. To get an unmistakable sound, CUT48 also fitted their SLR with a stainless steel sport exhaust system.
