Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss

Daimler gave us today a preview of the Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss that will be premiered at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Judging from the images, the Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, seen months earlier wearing camouflage and being called the Speedster, will definitely be a show stopper.

The Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 supercharged engine that's good for 650 hp and is mated to the 5-speed automatic gearbox from the standard SLR. The engine is able to take the Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss from stand still to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, and up to a top speed of almost 350 km/h. Imagine going at that speed with no wind screen.

Some of the goodies featured by the Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss include a full carbon fiber body, swing-wing doors, a tonneau cover for the entire cockpit or just the passenger side and a manual retractable air brake.

The Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss price is in the region of 750,000 Euros and Daimler says it will only build 75 units.
